Our Story

The Gold Coast City Marina & Shipyard (GCCM) was realised by people who wanted and could envisage better for all boaties, regardless of whether they were local or travelling from the other side of the ocean to get here, and regardless of whether they had a 10 ft tinnie or a 200-ft+ superyacht. This purpose-built shipyard facility was designed specifically to remove the pressure points of boating, with a laser-like focus on assembling an unrivalled choice of the very best marine contractors in the industry, operating to the highest possible standards. Over the last 25 years, we have worked hard to attract and retain leading marine service providers and multiple within each category. No other yard south of the equator has such a diverse and professionally recognised offering.

Flexible service options (from DIY to full-service Project Management)

From DIY to full Project Management we offer visiting vessels complete flexibility of how their works are managed whilst in the yard. We are open and pragmatic, and we operate with our customers like partners – captains and vessel owners can either choose to DIY, coordinate their own works direct with individual contractors or we can provide full end to end project management for more complex works. Our internal project management team can manage refits to Lloyds, DNV and Bureau Veritas survey requirements and regularly work on yachts from around the globe.

Our commitment to continued environmental improvement has set the benchmark for Marina’s worldwide. On-site initiatives include treatment and recycling plants for boat washdown water, rainwater harvesting, a dedicated on-site recycling yard (for both hard and liquid waste), one of the largest solar power marine facilities in the world, etc. GCCM is proud to have signed the Marina Industries Association’s (MIA) pledge to eliminate single-use plastics from within the marina.
