GCCM’s environmental goals include:
- Minimising waste generation by use of cleaner operational techniques and increasing diversion from landfill through new recycling initiatives and the establishment of a circular economy
- Operating all shipyard and marina activities in compliance with statutory requirements for protecting the environmental values of air, noise and water
- Achieving best practice environmental management in the design and implementation of shipyard operations to develop a circular economy.
- Work towards the goal of eliminating single-use plastics by 2025.
- Maintain International 5 Gold Anchor, Clean Marina – Level 3 & Fish Friendly certification.

- Largest solar power marine facility in the world
- Onsite waste resource recovery centre
- Fish friendly initiatives including eliminating the use of plastic bags, no fishing & providing information on local fish types, limitations and sustainable fishing guidelines.
