Coast City Marina and Shipyard Lift
over 400 vessels a year
using the two impressive TraveLifts
on site. For someone who hasn't seen
the marina's 150 tonne
machine in action, it's an inspiring
sight to see a 130ft+ superyacht slowly
rise out of the water then be transported
over to a refit and repair shed.
Although
this is a very routine procedure,
as well as an essential part of annual
maintenance, for most owners they
feel their boat is most vulnerable
when it is being lifted out of the
water. You can minimize your apprehension
by speaking to an experienced
shipyard supervisor or manager.
On
site at Gold Coast City Marina &
Shipyard, Ryan
Leigh-Smith (Shipyard Manager)
and Chris
Egan (Shipyard Operations Manager)
are a wealth of knowledge and can
easily assess your boat and liase
with you to work out which machine
is most suitable to lift your boat.
With two TraveLifts to choose from
(150t & 40t) the marina has a
solution for most vessels needs.
Once
the lift of your vessel is complete,
it is recommended that you have a
high-pressure wash
of the hull of your boat. If necessary,
antifoul paint and
propspeed application
can be arranged by Gold Coast City
Marina Staff.
Why
Antifoul?
Applying
antifoul paint prevents and
counteracts the build up of
barnacles and other deposits
on undersea surfaces such as
the hull of your boat.
Apart
from looking unsightly, heavy
fouling makes your boat slow,
less responsive, less fuel efficient
and difficult to manoeuvre in
close quarters situations.
